Leap,[1] also known as Giant Steps[2] (ステップ移動 Suteppu idō?, lit. "Step movement") is a recurring move in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a technique used by Amy Rose where she leaps forward.

Description

When performing this move, Amy Rose crouches down before taking a giant leap forward.

In gameplay, the Leap lets Amy step a small distance forward. However, this move has no offensive capabilities when executed, unlike the Spin Dash.

Game appearances

Sonic Advance

The Leap first appeared in Sonic Advance as one of Amy Rose's moves. In this game, it is called, Giant Steps.[2] To use the Giant Steps in gameplay, the player must press down on Controlpadds.png and GameboyA.png.

Sonic Advance 3

In Sonic Advance 3, this move is referred to as Leap[1] and is again one of Amy's moves. In this game, Amy can only use the Leap when having Tails as her partner. To perform Leap in gameplay, the player must, like in Sonic Advance, press down on Controlpadds.png and GameboyA.png.
