Laser gates, as the name implies, are thick, tall gates made of yellowish and purple bricks that blend in with the environment of Launch Base Zone.
Overview[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and the lock-on game Sonic 3 & Knuckles, laser gates appear at various points of Launch Base Zone Act 2. In gameplay, they may look harmless at first. Once every second however, a red laser will appear from the top and go down in a split second. Said laser is capable of damaging any character who touches it. However, if fast enough, the player can pass through the laser gate before the laser even appears.
