Kwod

Template:Character Kwod (クーウォド, Kūu~odo^?) is a human resident of Mazuri who appears in Sonic Unleashed. He is the son of Essie, as well the brother of Yaya and six other unknown siblings. Kwod is born with the unique ability to hear the voices of spirits, which is a rare gift that sometimes occurs in his villages, an ability similar to that of Kwami's.

Essie's boy. Every once in a while a child is born in the village with a strange sixth sense and the ability to speak with the unseen. Kwod happens to be one of these.

History

Kwod was born as the son of Essie and her husband in Mazuri village. Following a unusual phenomenon that occurred in the village from time to time, Kwod was from birth gifted with unique spiritual abilities that allowed him to communicate with the spirit realm, much like Kwami. Kwod was however, apparently, unaware about his abilities, which did not manifestate for several years after his birth.

A short while before the events of Sonic Unleashed, however, Kwod's abilities slowly began to awaken as the young boy began to feel the presence of spirits around him, and eventually learned how to communicate with them by concentrating, just like he had seen Kwami do. This allowed Kwod to receive various forms of info from the spirits, though he chose to keep it a secret. When Dr. Eggman began to set up his base outside Kwod's village, the boy heard noises coming from there and wondered what they could be, as he has sure it was not animal noises.

Following the Earth's shattering in Sonic Unleashed, Kwod encountered Sonic the Hedgehog (in his Werehog form) and Chip for the first time when the pair first arrived in Mazuri to find Professor Pickle. Seeing that they were not from the village, Kwod asked the duo why they were here and told them about the strange sounds he had heard from outside the village.

After Sonic,Tails and Chip returned to Spagonia with Professor Pickle, Kwod and his village were attacked by Dr. Eggman and his robot forces. While Kwod hid behind Kwami, Dr. Eggman demanded that the villagers told him where the local Gaia Temple was. Kwod, however, told the doctor defiantly that they would not tell him anything and threw a rock at Dr. Eggman, hitting him right in the face. Kwod was then pulled back by Kwami, trying to protect the boy from the consequences of his hasty action. Fortunately, Kwod and his village was saved in time by Sonic, who managed to drive Eggman out of the village, and Kwod joined his village in thanking Sonic for saving them. After the crowd calmed down, Kwod told Sonic how proud he was for getting such a good shot at Eggman and that he was fully determined to protect his village. Later, after Sonic later defeated Eggman and drove him out of Mazuri entirely, Kwod found Sonic and asked him if he got Eggman, before claiming that he also wanted to show the doctor a thing or two.

After things started to settle down in the village again, Kwod started to notice that Kwami had been acting weird lately as he always seemed to be spaced out. When Sonic later returned, Kwod told him what his thought about Kwami's behavior, wondering what was wrong with him and that he wished he knew what the promblem was.

Later, when the village elder Gwek stepped down from his position and gave it to Kwami, now having recovered, Kwod eagerly brought the news to Sonic and Chip, saying it was the biggest thing that happened in his life. Telling Sonic and Chip that Gwek had gone on a journey and now was in Chun-Nan, Kwod suggested to Sonic and Chip that they should go visit him.

When Sonic and Chip later on returned to Mazuri, Kwod asked them curiously how Spagonia was, as he told them that he thought it was way bigger than his village and that it was awesome. After asking this, Kwod also began to wonder if Spagonia had places people could not go like in Mazuri. When Sonic and Chip later again returned to Mazuri after restoring Spagonia's continent, Kwod asked the two of them where they were going this time. When Kwod heard that their next destination was Holoska, Kwod asked them if it was not super-cold up there and remarked that he would catch the worst cold if he went there in his clothes.

After Sonic and Chip restored Holoska's continent and returned to Mazuri once more, Kwod told them that he had heard that Holoska was back in place and how amazing it was. Having previously to their current meeting used his newly found connection with the spirits to determine Sonic's and Chip's next course of action would be, Kwod asked the duo out of nowhere if they were going to report to Professor Pickle now. Confused, Sonic asked Kwod how he knew that, but Kwod told him teasingly that he would not tell him.

When Sonic and Chip later returned to Mazuri again after a while, Kwod decided to let the heroes in on his secret. Meeting up with the pair, Kwod told Sonic and Chip to keep what he was about to tell a secret, and revealed to them about how he could sense the spirits around him. The young boy then started concentrate on hearing the spirits' voices and then suddenly yelled out that he was getting something. Kwod then told Sonic that the spirits were talking to him, telling him where Sonic was needed next in the world. Kwod would from then on remain as a source of information for Sonic and Chip, aiding them in their mission to restore the planet by telling them where the spirits were saying Sonic and Chip were needed next. When Sonic and Chip again returned to Mazuri, with only one continent left to restore and asked Kwod for guidance, Kwod commented them on their success and claimed that this would be the last time his powers were needed, before using them to tell Sonic and Chip about their next course of action.

Kwod later watched on in horror with the rest of his village, as Dark Gaia began to cast the world into darkness, but rejoiced as the world returned to normal following Perfect Dark Gaia's defeat at the hands of Super Sonic and the Gaia Colossus.
