The Knights of the Underworld[1] are creatures that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a species of supernatural creatures controlled by King Arthur, from a distant Zone connected to In Another Time, In Another Place's reality.
Description[]
Anatomy[]
The Knights of the Underworld are black phantoms that wear pieces of medieval armor. They can take a vast array of different forms, although the majority of them resemble sea creatures, such as fishes. However, besides each wearing metallic armor, common features the Knight of the Underworld share include glowing medieval symbol on their bodies.
Characteristics and culture[]
The Knights of the Underworld are seemingly mindless, appearing as non-sentient drones who unquestionably follows the orders of King Arthur.[2]

The Knights of the Underworld were summoned by King Arthur to corner the fleeing royal wizard, Merlina. However, Merlina got desperate and summoned Sonic the Hedgehog from another dimension and he proceeded to swiftly destroyed them all.[2]

- Though the Knights of the Underworld were never named in the comic, Ian Flynn has confirmed all the characters' names from the comic strip are considered to be the same as in Sonic and the Black Knight.[1]
