In the console/PC version Sonic Generations, the kick boost is used exclusively by Modern Sonic and Modern Super Sonic. When using the kick boost, Sonic Boosts into, the Movable Crate, channeling his speed and kicking the crate to deliver the strike rather than charging it up on one spot. To use the kick boost in gameplay, the player has to press /. This move is mostly used in the 2.5D sections of the levels as the Movable Crates are mostly only present in these areas, with the exception being the Endless Boost Challenge Act.
