Kick (キック,Kikku?) is one of the Speed Formation maneuvers used by Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic Heroes. It serve as their solo attack in their respective teams when no other team members are included in the move's performance. When performing this move, the user attacks forward with a flying kick.
Description
When performing the Kick, the user does a somersault and shoots himself forward while putting both his feet in front of him to let them collide straight with the target first. When doing so, the user is surrounded by his respective aura (Sonic in a blue aura while Shadow in a yellow aura).
When colliding with an enemy (that is not too heavily armored) while performing the Kick, the user will then deal damage to the said enemy. The Kick also allows the user to destroy weaker obstacles, such as wooden craters. For each blue Power Core the user obtains, the Kick technique will become more powerful, with three Power Cores being the upper limit.
To perform the Kick in gameplay, the respective teams has to be in Speed Formation, meaning Sonic or Shadow has to be in the lead. The player then has to hold the action button (//) down and release without any team members nearby to execute the Kick. While performing the Kick, the player can control the direction the playable character is heading with the control stick.
