The Keeper of the Time Stones[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. He is an ancient owl who is responsible for guarding the Floating Island and the Time Stones.
Appearance[]
The Keeper of the Time Stones is an elderly anthropomorphic owl. He has a very large head with numerous wrinkles surrounding his eyes, dark green eyes, and a small beak. For attire, he wears a purple cloak with the collar upside-down and a yellow fastener with a red jewel embedded in it.

Season two[]
The Keeper of the Time Stones appeared before Sonic and Sally after the duo made it into his inner sanctum on the Floating Island. There, the Keeper of the Time Stones presented them with a riddle (which answer was "Time") which they had to solve in order to obtain the Time Stones. After Sally answered correctly, the Keeper of the Time Stones disappeared and summoned the Time Stones, which he then gave to the heroes and instructed them to synchronize their thinking in order to use them properly.[1]

The Keeper of the Time Stones is a serious person who does not express many emotions, and only performs his duty.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
The Keeper of the Time Stones possesses several mystical powers. He can float in the air, create illusions of various items related to time, and disappear and reappear at will. Also, as protector of the Time Stones, he can call them out any time.[1]

Archie Comics[]
In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, the Keeper of the Time Stones goes by the name Nicholas O'Tyme. He is described as one of the rumored and legendary protectors of the Time Stones, who decides whether or not an individual is worthy to use them.
Trivia[]
- The Keeper of the Time Stones' appearance is similar to the Wizard of Oz, which resembled the image of a floating green head. Whether this was intended or not is unknown.
