The Kabasira[1][note 1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, mosquito-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman, and the counterpart of the Kabasira from an alternate dimension set in the recent past.
Appearance
Kabasiras are small, rather creepy-looking, insect-based Badniks. They each have a round, gray body with a pair of small wings, cartoonish black eyes and a red nose. While flying, they create a trail consisting of a few after-images which follow their movements, which makes it look as if there are a swarm of them.
Overview
In Sonic Mania, an its expansion Sonic Mania Plus, Kabasiras are enemies found in both Acts of Stardust Speedway Zone. In gameplay, they normally fly up and down in one place. When the player approaches however, they will fire an afterimage in the playable character's direction. In addition, the Kabasira afterimages will fly straight at the playable character and explode on contact. Both the afterimages and the Kabasiras themselves can easily be destroyed by the player by attacking them with a Spin Attack-related move. Destroying a Kabasira will also release the Animal inside of it and award the player with 100 points.
Powers and abilities
Kabasiras are capable of flight and can produce physical duplicates of themselves which they can use as projectiles.
