Helloooo and good evening! As always, I'm Nite the Owl and you're listening to K-TBR 199.2: Sunset City's number-one station for news and advice!

Nite the Owl, Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2020

K-TBR 199.2 is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a radio station based in Sunset City.[1]

History[]

Classic Era[]

Sonic Learns to Drive[]

NiteTheOwlClassic

KTBR 199.2's station, from Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Special.

On a seemingly normal morning, Nite would begin his shift by airing K-TBR 199.2's morning parliament, followed by a traffic update (with some problems caused by Sonic). Not long after, Nite promised those listening to the radio that they would soon go to their live coverage of Mr. Munch-Um's road rally. However, he quickly announced soon after that the road rally has been postponed due to Dr. Eggman launching an attack across the city. Soon after, Nite reported that he would play the latest hit from the band the Chao Chaos, "Chili Dog Rhapsody".[2]

Modern Era[]

Darkest Hour[]

During a regular broadcast at the radio station, Nite was called by Gala who said she needed help because she was being followed by people who looked sick. Soon after, Nite started getting more and more calls from panicked civilians describing attacks from metallic people. Don soon suggested that they left the city, but Nite felt that it was their job to warn the locals of the impending threat and offer them help. Upset, Don left, saying that he was not going to wait until he was killed by monsters. After Don left, a saddened Nite received another phone call, this time from a representative from the Restoration, who explained to him that the current Metal Virus pandemic was turning civilians into Zombots. The caller also informed Nite that a safe zone was being created in the city and that the survivors should be informed about it, as K-TBR 199.2 was the last station in the area that was still operational. In addition, having been inspired by Nite's words, Don decided to return to Nite and helped him secure the radio station so they could keep broadcasting. Meanwhile, Don announced that survivors were being gathered at the Grand Gold Flicky Hotel, and if they failed to get there, they should call K-TBR 199.2 to inform Restoration of their location. Meanwhile, Don secured the station's door against a possible attack. Soon after though, Zombots began approaching the station.[1]

Trial by Fire[]

After the Zombot apocalypse was averted, Nite had Charmy co-star with him during a K-TBR 199.2 radio broadcast while he and Don watched Charmy for Vector and Espio. When the pair returned in the morning to pick up Charmy, Nite provided then with a potential case for the Chaotix Detective Agency based on some calls he had gotten from some calls he received during his show.[3]

Spring Broken![]

Nite would help Amy host and judge the Annual Flower Frolic Competition at the Spring Flower Festival, Don would be there to help set up which Nite would broadcast the event live on the radio station.[4]
