Jun'ichi Kanemaru (金丸 淳一 Kanemaru Jun'ichi?) is a Japanese voice actor who has done voice work for the Japanese version of the Sonic the Hedgehog series and its spin-offs.[1] He is best known as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, being the character's longest-lasting voice actor across various media in any language.[citation needed]

History[]

In addition to being a voice actor, Kanemaru is a singer as well.[citation needed] Some of his most popular songs are "Suddenly" and "Shall We Walk Together".[citation needed] Kanemaru was an English teacher in Japan, which is why Sonic says lines in English frequently in the Japanese versions of Sonic X and the games.[2][3]
