Ixis is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a primordial deity that has existed since the dawn of time, and was worshiped by the troll species.

Information about Ixis is scarce: according to Walter Naugus, Ixis was "a primordial force from the beginning of time," and that "it was sealed by lesser chaotic forces that had shaped the universe into what it is."[1]

Despite Ixis's demise, the Second Great Civilization worshiped Ixis and used the deity's power during their time on the planet. Though most of the trolls were wiped from existence due to a great unknown catastrophe, there is still some presence of worshipers of the dark god, namely Walter Naugus and, to an extent, Wendy Naugus.[1][2]

There also exist wellsprings that house the deity's energy, though they are extremely difficult to find.[2]

Powers and abilities

Ixis's power is said to be much purer than chaotic forces like the Chaos Emeralds, capable of unmaking and reshaping the world and all things in it.[1] It can also generate a potent form of dark and ominous energy that causes power-boosts and mutations, much like the Dark Gaia energy.[2]

  • Ixis' name is presumably derived from Ixis Naugus and/or the Order of Ixis' names, both of which were mystics practicing dark arts.
