Overview

In gameplay, the Illusion Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Espio, Silver, Lantern Silver and Rouge.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Illusion Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Illusion Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Illusion Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Illusion Boost is in effect. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Illusion Boost is in effect will be inflicted with illusion.

The Illusion Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Illusion Boost will last longer.

Trivia

  • The energy cubes left behind by the Illusion Boost are the same as those used by Infinite, possibly as a reference to the nature of his power.
