Appearing to be exactly like the typical Bombbearer, the IceBombas resemble magenta dung beetles with four legs. They have round bodies with spherical joints on both ends of their legs, and have both green claws for feet and a pair of wings on their backs (the latter of which connect to the IceBombas' back via round joints). They also have round heads with two small yellow eyes each.
In gameplay, IceBombas bob through the air in wavy patterns. When the player gets close though, they will drop their container and fly away. If the playable character touches this container (whether if it is still in the grasp of the IceBomba or after it has been dropped), they will freeze. If the container touches the ground however, it creates a large and impassible pillar of ice that will block the player for a few seconds before shattering. Any aerial attack, such as the Spin Jump, however, will destroy this pillar with ease.
To best defeat an IceBomba, the player can use the Spin Jump. However, it is important to hit it from an angle where the player will not touch its container, as getting frozen will interrupt the attack. Also, upon destroying an IceBomba, it will release an Animal.
Powers and abilities[]
With their wings, the IceBombas are capable of flight.
Weapons[]
Each IceBomba carries around a light blue spherical container with a white snowflake symbol on them that contains contents which flash-freeze their points of impact.
Trivia[]
Their name is a portmanteau of the words ice and bomber.
Notes[]
↑While not listed in any instruction manuals, the internal files in the PC release of Sonic Mania refers to this enemy as "IceBomba".
