Iblis's Minions,[1] also known as Iblis Incarnations,[2] are creatures that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a species of fiery monsters created by Iblis, and, by extension, Solaris. After Solaris, and subsequently Iblis, was erased from existence, Iblis's Minions were wiped out too.

Description[]

Anatomy[]

Iblis's Minions appear to be made entirely of lava and harden rock. Regular minions glow orange and enhanced versions appear purple instead. Diverse in terms of anatomy, Iblis's Minions commonly take the form of canine lizards, dragon-like phoenixes, monstrous worms and giant golems. Also, each minion has Light Cores within its body.[1][3]

Characteristics and culture[]

STH2006 SL Iblis 01

Iblis, the creator of his minions, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).

Iblis's Minions are crafted from the Flames of Disaster (the embodiment of Solaris' wrath),[1] making Iblis and Solaris the only beings capable of creating them. While Iblis's Minions may lack in numbers, they make up for it in ferocity.[1] Completely mindless, they exist only to cause destruction wherever they go.

Powers and abilities[]

A group of the enhanced variant of Iblis's Minions, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).

The majority of Iblis's Minions possess limited pyrokinetic abilities, enabling them to breathe fire or manifest balls of lava to throw at foes. According to their type, Iblis's Minions may also possess wallcrawling skills, enhanced strength, flexible skin, or flight capabilities.

The enhanced variety of Iblis's Minions are made of a thicker magma material, making them tougher and more durable than the regular minions. The majority of these minions are also capable of projecting lasers and energy balls.

Game appearances[]

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)[]

In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), during the Solaris Project ten years ago, Iblis's Minions surfaced for the first time when Iblis and Mephiles the Dark tried to escape from Aquatic Base. However, they disappeared after the Duke of Soleanna and two time travelers sealed the entities away.

More of Iblis's Minions were created after Iblis was released in Sonic the Hedgehog's time frame. During their reign, Iblis's Minions and their creator devastated the planet for over two hundred years.

As multiple heroes worked toward ending the threats spawning Iblis's Minions, the creatures would keep attacking them, both in the past and future. Eventually, Blaze the Cat sealed the Iblis in the future and herself away in another dimension, ending the reign of Iblis's Minions in the future. However, when Solaris was reborn in the present, he recreated Iblis's Minions across several timelines to prevent Sonic the Hedgehog's allies from stopping his plans to destroy time. In the end, Solaris was erased from the timeline, along with Iblis's Minions too.

Sonic Generations[]

In the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, the regular variety of Iblis's Minions appeared as enemies in Crisis City.

Trivia[]

  • It is commonly believed that the purple variety of Iblis's Minions were created by Mephiles the Dark. However, no officially revealed sources suggest that they are spawned by Mephiles. Similarly, official guides categorize them as Iblis's Minions.[1]
