iOS wordmark since 2017.
iOS is a mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc. Based on Apple's OS X (an operating system for Macintosh computers), iOS serves as the operating environment for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices. As of Q4 2010, iOS ranks third place in global smartphone sales. iOS is notable for the numerous applications in its App Store; in fact, for many, this large assortment of "apps" are the main draw to the iOS platform. Like many video game publishers, Sega has released a number of titles for the iOS platform, including games based on the Sonic franchise.
