Hypnovision is a subject that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is a form of subliminal advertising used by Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Along with his RoboWife and RoboDog, it was used to help Robotnik gain support for his campaign election.[1]

History

The Hypnovision was first used in the Robotnik commercials to gain support in order to defeat his rival Henry Walrus. Sonic, while watching it from Bert's Diner, was unaffected by the commercials as he was fast enough to see through the hypnosis spiral. However, he learned the hard way that the Hypnovision caused its victims to lash out at anyone who insulted Robotnik as the customers in the diner chased him out after Sonic made fun of Robotnik. This event led Sonic to run for president himself.[1]

The Hypnovision however had a flaw; if the victims were insulted by the person they supported or if that same person caused a disaster of epic proportions, the Hypnovision would wear off. It was this flaw that Sonic used to defeat Robotnik and help him gain support to win.[1]
