This gear's dive limiter safety was removed yielding an overpowering but uncontrollable ride.

— Description, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity[1]

The Hyperdrive (ハイパーダイブ Haipādaibu?) is a Board type Extreme Gear that appears in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. It increases the velocity of the Gravity Dive.

Description[]

According to its profile, the Hyperdrive's dive limiter safety component has been removed for unknown reasons. As a result, the Hyperdrive has become an overpowered Extreme Gear, but its speed comes at the price of its maneuverability. It can be purchased at the shop for 2,400 Rings.

Like most other Board types in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Hyperdrive has a distinct board-like shape, but is thicker and has smoother curves than the Board type Extreme Gears seen in Sonic Riders. The Hyperdrive is primarily colored red and white, in the shapes of highlights, and its front and rear are rather larger and spherical, though the front is bigger that the rear, while its midsection is quite thin in comparison to the rest of the gear. It also has a black area stretching across its top surface and has two grey circular foot panels on top of it.

Abilities and traits[]

As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Hyperdrive is well-balanced in its attributes, though with slightly less than average stats, and is suited for general riding.

When using the Hyperdrive, this Extreme Gear can vastly increase the velocity of the speed boost from Gravity Dive, allowing the racer to reach incredible high speeds. As a drawback to this however, the player's GP Gauge is drained quicker of its Gravity Points when performing the Gravity Dive. Another drawback that the Hyperdrive has that it gains less GP from performing Tricks, accessing Wall Routes and grinding compared to the average Extreme Gear.
