Quotation1 Gracious! You're here already. I'm shell shocked! But please egg-scuse me if I scramble your chances of seeing Dr. R. Quotation2
— Humpty, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

Humpty is the third competitor from Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. He is a shy, egg-based Badnik that has trouble balancing and a bandage on his face.

Two Humptys in Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog.

As with most opponents from Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Humpty is derived from a very briefly appearing minion of Robotnik's in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog pilot, "Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad". Interestingly there appear to be several versions of him (two coloured completely green, another coloured red), all towering above Sonic (but easily evaded by him). A grey coloured variant of Humpty in western garb (dubbed DOS Holiday by Robotnik) also challenges Sonic in the episode "Magnificent Sonic". In Sonic Christmas Blast, several robots also have a similar design.

  • His name is based on the nursery rhyme character, Humpty Dumpty, who is usually portrayed as an egg (just like Humpty). In another reference to the nursery rhyme, his sprite shows Humpty sitting on a rock and struggling not to fall off. Humpty Dumpty also appears in Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There; in the novel, he is an egg who sits on a wall.
  • He plays like Sukiyapodes from Puyo Puyo.
