Hot Honey[1] is a group mentioned in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a musical band on Earth, best known for being Amy Rose's personal favorite band.[1]

Description[]

Very little is known about Hot Honey, other than that all of its members appear to be bees, with their names ending with "Bee", like "Jeremy Bee", similar to Charmy Bee. It appears to have a massive fandom, since the tickets for its concerts always run out in mere minutes.[1]

History[]

Past[]

Some time ago, Hot Honey became Amy Rose's favorite band, becoming obsessed with them over time. Despite her fanaticism, she was never able to attend any of their concerts, particularly because of how hard it is to get their tickets since they run out pretty quickly.[1] Her obsession with Hot Honey became known to her friends.[2]

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog[]

In The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, when he arrived on the Mirage Express with Sonic and his friends to celebrate Amy's birthday, Shadow realized that everyone had a gift for her but him. As such, he attempted to use the train's computer at the Lounge Car to get her some Hot Honey concert tickets for her. However, the tickets were not available yet, but would be on sale soon. Due to his poor skill at using computers though, the black hedgehog ended up printing a copy of the band's website instead. Eventually, Tails and his new partner, who had teamed up to see who had "murdered" Sonic, found this copy whilst looking for clues of the perpetrator. With his surprise ruined anyway, Shadow revealed to the two and Amy his intentions, proving his innocence.[2]

Trivia[]

  • While Hot Honey does not appear in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog itself, they do appear on a bulletin board in the background of the official Christmas 2023 picture made by Min Ho Kim and posted on official Sonic social media channels.
    • On this bulletin board, it shows that the band is collaborating with an artist named "Mika," which is a parody of Hatsune Miku, a Japanese Vocaloid software that has collaborated with Sega in the past, as she is the main playable character in the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA game series that is developed by Sega.
  • The members of Hot Honey appear to be a reference to the band Sonic Underground from the television series of the same name, as they are a three-member band which has two male members and a single female member. In particular, the third member bears a striking resemblance to Manic the Hedgehog, in that they are both have green, shaggy hair, wear vests, and serve as the drummers of the band.
    • The furthest member on the left also bears some resemblance to an early conceptual design for Queen Aleena Hedgehog.

Not way, I love them!! / Player's character: Uh, 'Hot Honey'? / Amy: It's the band I'm currently obsessed with. Jeromy Bee is, sigh, my current favorite. / Player's character: ...all of the members have 'bee' after their name? / Amy: Yes, heehee isn't it cute? I haven't gone to any of their shows yet to see them, though. Their tickets are really hard to get. You have to be ready online at a specific time and they sell out in minutes."

I'm trying to get you [Amy] concert tickets for your birthday. / [...] / Tails: When logging on to, did you print the homepage by accident? / Shadow: How the... yes. That is exactly what happened. I'm not fantastic with computers, admittedly. [...] Mh... when I arrived on the train I realized everyone had a gift, except for me. Worried for my social status, I immediately began brainstorming ideas and saw the computer. I remembered Amy had never seen Hot Honey live and looked it up. That's when I accidentally printed the home page. The concert tickets weren't actually on sale, I realized, but would be available soon."
