Muster multiple Motobugs to follow you down the track for a short while, damaging any rivals that touch them!

— Description, Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

The Honor Guard, also known as LEGO® Honor Guard, is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Trap Item used primarily to obstruct opposing rivals' path.

Description[]

The Honor Guard takes the form of a number of Motobugs arranged in a triangle formation, both as an icon and on the tracks.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Honor Guard can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Eggman and LEGO® Dr. Eggman. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Honor Guard if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Honor Guard by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Honor Guard will drop its Motobugs some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. Once deployed, these Motobugs will move down the lane they were deployed on a while before exploding, although they are not nearly as fast as the user themselves. If a rival character touches one of the Honor Guard's Motobugs, they will be stunned, thus causing them to lose Rings and stop moving for a moment, and lose one random power-up in their inventory slots on the HUD. Furthermore, the Honor Guards' Motobugs are indestructible, making them impossible to intercept unharmed. To avoid the Honor Guard, the playable character must either jump over their Motobugs or run in-between them.

The Honor Guard can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the Honor Guard will deal more damage.

Trivia[]

  • During 4.23.0 to 4.23.1 update, an issue of the Honor Guard that spawn incorrectly one of Moto-Bugs at same lane as the user.
