Honch is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was a Human soldier of G.U.N. and member of Paladin Team Sigma-Alpha 2. He and the rest of the team were responsible for the capture of Sonic the Hedgehog who had been framed for the theft of a Chaos Emerald that had actually been stolen by Shadow the Hedgehog, although Sonic escaped their custody while flying in a helicopter. He would later meet Sonic again as an ally during their mission to defeat the evil dragon, Zan. He and his teammates were ultimately captured, brainwashed and made into a member of the Eurish Dark Egg Legion.

History

Hunting Sonic

Honch was part of one of the missions given to Paladin Team Sigma-Alpha 2; the capture of Sonic the Hedgehog, when they believed he was responsible for stealing Station Square's Chaos Emerald. He attempted to shoot Sonic when he resisted arrest, but he and two other teammates had their weapon stolen. The team managed to capture Sonic, though he managed to escape while being brought back to Station Square in a helicopter.

Some time later, Honch and the rest of Paladin Team Sigma-Alpha 2 were once again deployed, this time to work with Sonic and the Knothole Freedom Fighters to bring an end to the terror brought on by the dragon Zan. Honch noticed that both Spike and Rico mysteriously vanished and informed the rest of the team. Later when Zan was discovered, Honch pointed out there was another dragon. He was ordered to kill her as well, but Sigma Alpha 2's weapons were then stolen by Sonic. Honch later double-checked if his teammates set the explosives, which they confirmed. Zan was killed by the blast, and the team returned to Station Square.

During the Xorda's attack on the planet, Honch and Sigma-Alpha 2 were among the G.U.N. soldiers on the field of battle against the Quantum Dial, working under Commander Hugo Brass.

Scrambled

Honch is released to fight E-123 Omega, from Sonic Universe #38.

Eventually, Honch and the rest of Paladin Team Sigma-Alpha 2 were captured by Dr. Eggman along with former Commander-in-Chief of G.U.N., Hugo Brass. The team was Legionized and brainwashed into serving the Eggman Empire as well as Hugo Brass, the new Dark Egg Legion Grandmaster of their Eurish chapter.

Powers and abilities

After being Legionized, Honch had strength, speed, and agility many times greater then he previously had. He also has wrist-mounted blasters for long-range combat and wrist-mounted energy blades for close-combat.
