Holmes is a fictional character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was an Mobian echidna residing in Echidnaopolis and a former Constable of the Echidna Security Team, and as well Remington's predecessor.
History[]
For an unprecedented amount of time, Holmes served as the Constable of the Echidna Security Team in Echidnaopolis. After Remington had risen up through the ranks of the Echidna Security Team, the young echidna became the protégé of Holmes, who served as something of a mentor to Remington. Eventually, Holmes retired from the Echidna Security Team, and Remington was instated as the new Constable.[1] At some point after Remington took over, Holmes warned him about the difficulties of his new position, especially about getting personally involved in matters dealing with the Brotherhood of Guardians.[2]

Holmes was described as a brilliant team leader, and was firm on enforcing the rules that the constables had to follow.[1][2]
