Hip Drop is one of Rouge the Bat's special moves in Sonic Adventure 2 and in its remake, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. When performing this technique, Rouge drops down to the ground with enough force to create wide tremors.

The Hip Drop is used during Rouge's battle with Knuckles the Echidna on board the Space Colony ARK, but only as a boss in the Hero story. Outside of that, this is one of the techniques Rouge cannot perform in the gameplay of Story Mode, the other being Black Wave. However, she can perform it in the games' two-player mode, but only when she has gathered enough Rings.

Description

When performing the Hip Drop, Rouge jumps slightly into the air while twirling around herself once. At the height of her jump, Rouge raises both her legs, while pointing her pelvic cavity directly down. Rouge then drops her entire body down while raising her legs above her head in the process, before landing on the ground, gluteal region first, with such force that it creates noticeable tremors across a wide area that will trip any opponents on the ground within its range.

In Story Mode, Rouge will begin performing the Hip Drop after her health has been reduced to half. It serves as Rouge's close range attack when the player is just next to her.

In the games' two-player mode, where two players races each other in a hunt to collect most of the Master Emerald's Emerald Shards, the player controlling Rouge is able to execute the Hip Drop. In order to perform the Hip Drop technique, the player must collect at least 20 Rings. Once the player has collected enough Rings, the Hip Drop can be performed freely. When performing the Hip Drop, Rouge shouts "Hip Drop", before striking the ground. The tremor caused by the Hip Drop will then cover the entire stage, striking the opposing player's character wherever he/she may be. Though the opposing player's character does not take damage from the Hip Drop, it will cause him/her to trip and be left dazed for a few seconds. If the opponents are climbing while the Hip Drop is performed, they will be knocked off the walls. However, if the opponents are gliding or in the middle of a jump while the Hip Drop is performed, it will have no effect.
