Hikaru Tanimoto is a Japanese unique acoustic guitarist who has done work for the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

History

Tanimoto started playing the guitar at age 16, and started his professional career at age 17. By using only one acoustic guitar without multiplex recordings, he can express various ethnic sounds such as Sitar, Percussion, Steel pan, Japanese traditional instruments, etc. In 2010, he was ranked top 20 as most popular Japanese guitarist in Swing Journal, a popular magazine for jazz music.

He has provided music for Nissan automobile ads and Sonic and the Black Knight.
