Highway Zero is a racetrack that appears in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, representing Jet Set Radio. It is one of three tracks in the game that are based in Tokyo-To, as well as the second course in the Samba Cup. Despite sharing its name with an area in Jet Set Radio Future, it is actually modeled after 99th Street from the same game.
Description[]
Around halfway through the track, racers launch from a ramp and fly out toward a stylish building that rises high above the cityscape. While zipping through the building, the player must land before reaching its far side. There is a purple boost pad here that can be used to launch forward again, while those who have flown too far too quickly will instead find themselves plummeting toward the streets below.
After these airborne antics, things come crashing to the ground as racers end up navigating more gently curving streets that now have an unwelcome wrinkle: rails at their center. Drifting to the outer or inner shoulder helps, depending on the player's comfort level with drifts, and a good time to boost is when the racecar is lined up for a straight shot to the left or right of any oncoming rails.
The DS version of the track differs a lot. The track starts off in an area that has orange lanterns on the side and bridges overhead. Eventually the racers will enter what seems to be a sewer before driving on a railway track. Beside the railway track, there are short platforms that have an Item Box on top, adding a bit of risk for a reward. After steering off the railway tracks, the racers will drop and go through a traditional Japanese structure before meeting the finish line.
