High Speed (Sonic Riders)

High Speed^[1]^[2] (ハイスピード^[3], Hai Supīdo^?) is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. When obtained, it gives a boost of speed to an Extreme Gear rider.

Description[]

In gameplay, when the player obtains High Speed, the playable character is given a burst of speed, thus accelerating to high speeds. However, its effect only last for about a second.

High Speed first appeared in Sonic Riders, where it is classified as a Power-Up item. In this game, its icon is a rounded cube depicting one of Sonic's shoes.

The player can obtain High Speed at random by touching one of the Item Boxes that lie scattered across the racing course. When obtaining it, the icon representing High Speed appears briefly on the screen.

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity[]

In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, High Speed is classified as a power-up item again. In this game, its icon is a rounded cube depicting the Blue Star with a red arrow pointing upwards.

The player can obtain High Speed at random by touching one of the Item Boxes that lie scattered across the racing course. When obtaining it, the icon representing High Speed appears briefly on the screen.
