The hi-tops,[1] also called the power sneakers,[2] are objects that appear in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. They are a pair of shoes worn by Sonic the Hedgehog, specifically meant to reduce friction on his feet.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The hi-tops are a pair of smooth red sneakers with pointed toes, white soles and a white strap over their middle. They also appear to have white sock-like cuffs, although that is portrayed inconsistently.
Abilities and traits[]
The hi-tops are made of a special, friction-proof material, meaning they will never wear down or overheat. This is vital to Sonic as he is unable to run for long without his unprotected feet catching fire from friction. The hi-tops are also very strong, being made of a material that is so tough that Harry the Hawker broke sixteen sets of steak knives trying to chop them into pieces without even putting a scratch on the hi-tops.[1]
History[]
TV series[]
Past[]
The hi-tops have been in Sonic's possession long before he met Tails. How Sonic obtained them is unknown.
Season one[]
During a visit to McGuffin on "Sonic Appreciation Day", the hi-tops were stolen by Harry the Hawker, who planned to sell pieces of them as souvenirs. However, Sonic uncovered Harry's plot in time and got his hi-tops back.[1]
