The Heart Mine (ハートマイン [1] Hātomain?) is an attack used by Rouge the Bat in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). When using this technique, Rouge places an explosive bomb on objects.

Description

When Rouge performs the Heart Mine, she pulls out a pink heart-shaped mine and attaches it to the vertical surface she is climbing on. A few seconds after being attached, the mine will detonate, damaging its nearby surroundings.

In gameplay, the player can use the Heart Mine to destroy weak barriers blocking paths and entrances, thereby opening up new paths, or take out enemies climbing on the walls (such as the Egg Bombers). However, it cannot be directly attached to said enemies. To use the Heart Mine in gameplay, the player must press PSSquareButton.png/XboxX.png while Rouge is climbing on a wall.

Trivia

  • The Heart Mine is not listed in the Western instruction manuals for Sonic the Hedgehog (2006); it is only listed in the Japanese manual.
