The Hard Rock is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Hard Rock's icon takes Rockstar Rouge 's purple guitar's head with three-yellow strings, and light yellow sparkling things surrounded.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Hard Rock can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Rockstar Rouge . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Hard Rock if they use the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Hard Rock by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. While active, the Hard Rock will release the guitar which surround the user that deal damage to any rival that makes contact or gets too close to the user. The duration of the Hard Rock is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Hard Rock is in effect. In addition, if the Hard Rock limit duration reached, the guitars will travel down three separate lanes in front of the user side-by-side. Rival character who collide the Hard Rock will lose Rings and slow down momentarily, and item slots on the bottom of the HUD locked for a short time, which is preventing the player from using the power-ups stored in them. To avoid the Hard Rock, the playable character must step out its lane or jump over it.
The Hard Rock can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the Hard Rock will increase the damage dealt.
