The Hammer Throw[1][2] (ハンマー投げ[3] Hanmā Nage?) is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is an attack performed by Amy Rose via her Piko Piko Hammer.

Description[]

When performing the Hammer Throw, Amy throws her Piko Piko Hammer forward. She is able to throw as many as she wants. The Hammer Throw is used to attack enemies that are out of reach.

Game appearances[]

Sonic the Fighters[]

In Sonic the Fighters, the Hammer Throw serves as one of Amy's attacks. The player must press the following commands (Down Down-right STF-Arrow-Right STF-P-Button) in order to use it.

Sonic Origins Plus[]

In Sonic Origins Plus, the Hammer Throw returns as the special ability of Hyper Amy. It can be performed by pressing the Switch x/PSTriangleButton/Y button/[E].

Sonic Superstars[]

In Sonic Superstars, the Hammer Throw returns once again. It is Amy's Extra ability that can be used if the player has collected the gray Chaos Emerald. The player must select Extra, then press Switch y/Square/X button in order to use it. The attack is temporarily, as once the gauge for Extra runs out, Amy will stop performing it until the gauge is fully charged again. Unlike in Sonic Origins Plus, using the Hammer Throw while Amy is curled into a ball will automatically uncurl her.
