When performing Hail Storm, Sonic gets up in front of his opponent, while Tails, Knuckles and Amy gets up right behind him. Sonic then revs up a Spin Dash and Knuckles knocks Sonic while he is still curled into a ball into the opponent. When Sonic rebounds from hitting the opponent, Amy uses her Piko Piko Hammer to knock Sonic back into the opponent. When Sonic then rebounds from hitting the opponent again, Knuckles knocks Sonic back into the opponent once more. When Sonic rebounds from hitting the opponent again, Tails knocks Sonic back into the opponent again from the air. When Sonic rebounds from hitting the opponent once more, Amy uses her Piko Piko Hammer to knock Sonic back into the opponent again. When Sonic rebounds from hitting the opponent again, Knuckles knocks Sonic back into the opponent once more. After Sonic rebounds from hitting the enemy, Tails knocks Sonic into the opponent from the air a final time. After being knock back by Tails, Sonic uncurls and delivers a final strike to the opponent, before retreating with his team to their positions.
In gameplay, Hail Storm deals attack damage to a single target with seven strikes. When dealing damage, Hail Storm has a chance of inflicting stun on the target. The higher the level of Hail Storm is, the more attack damage it will deal and the greater the possibility that it will inflict stun on an opponent.
Real-Time Interaction[]
When performing Hail Storm in gameplay, the player has to complete a series of real-time events by performing certain actions on the Touch Screen, in order to execute Hail Storm optimally. For these actions, the player has to touch the inside of eight circles in succession when the outer circles overlap the inner circles. Missing or not touching these circles correctly will either result in Sonic missing a strike or the damage from the attack being reduced.
