Gyoro (ギョロ Gyoro?) is a character that appears in the The Jet Black Hedgehog: Shadow the Hedgehog manga series. It was a one-eyed Black Arms bat-like creature that flies around in White Space. It teamed up with Shadow the Hedgehog to find the Three Wishing Orbs in exchange for bringing Maria back to life. In reality, he was aiding his creator, Black Doom, in preparing Shadow's body to be taken over by Black Doom.

Gyoro is a small sphere, featuring a red tail, sharp wings, and horns. Its horns are curved forward, while its four sharp teeth are curved backward. He has one large eye centering him. His color palette only features two colors, with a devilish red on the top and purple on the bottom. With some of his red color bleeding down from his top.

Gyoro was created by Black Doom in order to persuade Shadow into collecting the Three Wishing Orbs.
The Jet Black Hedgehog: Shadow the Hedgehog[]
While flying around, Gyoro gets squished by a raging Shadow the Hedgehog and thuds onto the ground, staring at him. Shadow questions where he is and Gyoro immediately scolds Shadow, questioning if he is crazy, yelling at his bad manners. Gyoro calls Shadow a jerk and that scowling will do nothing.
Gyoro ignores a comment Shadow makes and flies to the top of the building and teases Shadow by saying he can't come to the top of the building and will spit on him. Once Shadow reaches the building, Gyoro laughs and starts to explain how White Space works, then he proposes bringing Maria back to life once finding out Maria is a loved one to Shadow by using the Three Wishing Orbs. The two head to the Space Colony ARK to find the first wishing orb.
Gyoro asks Shadow if he's okay to proceed with it's mental toll. While Shadow is answering him, Gyoro gets surrounded by multiple Mono Beetles, Gyoro begs for help, and banters with Shadow for admiring the robots, before getting saved by him. The two then encounter a G.U.N. Hunter, Gyoro calls the mech "unhinged" and asks Shadow to retreat. Shadow then states, "if you have to run from someone unhinged... you're talking to the wrong guy!" before then destroying the mech. Gyoro looks in shock and calls Shadow "super-unhinged", and immediately heads to retrieve the Wishing Orb upon Shadow's request. Upon the Orb infusing into Shadow, Gyoro explains to Shadow the Orb's power and asks Shadow his condition, feeling amused upon his response of "agreeable somehow".
Personality[]
Gyoro is mischievous, childish, and playful. It has little emotional intelligence and doesn't seem to take much situations very seriously, despite that, it is good at analyzing and understanding the character of others relatively quickly as well as the potential goals and motivations of others; able to digest and understand situations easily. It likes to tease others and will use others to his advantage.
It detests violence, and can offer cower in fear at the site of danger, breaking into tears often; displaying hyperactivity within him, he constantly has things to speak his mind on.

Gyoro displays little abilities or powers, he only has the ability to float around, and spit small spheres, likely bubbles.

Gyoro can take physical attacks and seems to get hurt by them.

Gyoro has a playful relationship with Shadow, given his personality he likes to mess around with him and tease him. He gets frustrated by Shadow's violent nature, but he likes to abuse it often. He doesn't take Shadows troubles very seriously and seems that he wants to use Shadow to achieve his goal of obtaining the Three Wishing Orbs. Gyoro would often call Shadow "brother". This dynamic however shifted later on as he started to grow fearful of Shadow's violent nature, Shadow would often start to tease him instead of the other way around.

- "Gyoro" is taken from the word "gyoro-me" (ギョロ目?), which means "bulging/goggle/saucer eyes." The unofficial translation by Windii names him "Bug-Eye".
