The Guardian Units of the Nation is a group in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was the alternate version of the Guardian Units of the Nation from Dark Mobius.
History
G.U.N.'s early history was most likely largely the same as its Mobius Prime counterpart's. The point of divergence was when Knuckles became corrupted by his chaos powers and decided to conquer Mobius.[1]
Coming into conflict with Knuckles, now having assumed the mantle of Dark Enerjak, G,U.N. launched "Operation: Night Fire" in an effort to defeat him. This included a major assault by the G.U.N. Air Force and navy as well as Team Dark, the latter group attacking Angel Island in order to secure the Master Emerald. Enerjak decimated the entire assault force, leading Commander Abraham Tower to resign in disgrace. Tower hoped that his actions would be perceived as those of a renegade, thus sparing G.U.N. any reprisal by Enerjak, but Knuckles later crushed them.[1]
Weapons and technology
- Aircraft: The G.U.N. Air Force (G.U.N.A.F.) include the flying flagship G.U.N.A.F. Gilgamesh, 30 Osprey-class long rage bombers and 150 Hawk-class fighters.[1]
- Navy: The G.U.N. Navy include a number of ships with aircrafts and crew.[1]
