The Grounder is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a mass-produced, mole-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman.

The Grounders were deployed on Westside Island by Dr. Eggman, where they would fight Sonic and Tails at the Aquatic Ruins Zone.[1]
A highly sentient Grounder unit once served as a part of Dr. Eggman's Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad. He would later be employed at Breeze Media when Eggman no longer had any use for him.[2]
Worlds Unite[]
A number of scrapped Grounders were left behind in a deserted junkyard which Zavok, Zeena and Zor reanimated with their magnetic powers and used to defeat Sonic the Hedgehog during their visit there.[3] These events were later prevented from ever happening thanks to a time traveling Xander Payne.[4]
