Template:Item The Grinder (グラインダー Guraindā?) is a Skate type Extreme Gear that appears in Sonic Riders. It gives its rider the traits of the Speed Type.
Description
The Grinder is unlocked in the game by completing the Babylon Story in Story Mode and can be purchased at the shop for 2,000 Rings.
The Grinder appearance is like that of an orange pair of skates, with white tongues that has black and yellow stripes running down the borders and small fins on the sides. It also has thin black ankle bands.
Abilities and Traits
As a Skate-type Extreme Gear, the Grinder is less powerful than most Extreme Gears, but is also more agile and more fuel-efficient. It also has a respectable sized Air Tank.
In a race, the Grinder grants its rider Speed Type attributes, allowing the player to grind on the rails on the courses and gain Air while doing so. In addition, the players can still utilize the original type-related ability of their characters while riding the Grinder to collect Air, meaning that Flight Type characters can still glide through midair by going off Flight Type-specified ramps and pass through Accelerators, and Power Type characters can still destroy obstacles, when riding the Grinder.
