Green Hover (Wisp)

Green Hover^[1]^[2] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Green Wisp and companion of Whisper the Wolf. Green Hover was the trusted companion of its fallen partner, Claire Voyance, who served as the team's psy-op.

Appearance[]

A typical Green Wisp, Green Hover's appearance is akin to a spaceship. It possesses one blue eye in the middle of its head, a round body with a small fin on top of its head, and three sphere-like structures stemming from the bottom of its body.

History[]

Past[]

At some time before the War to Take Back the Planet, Sonic the Hedgehog released and saved the Wisps and their planet from Eggman's control. Green Hover knew of Sonic and his heroic deeds, as a result. Presumably after the Wisps were saved, some settled on Earth, it met and decided to join the Diamond Cutters, where it was paired up with Claire Voyance in order for her to use her Hover wispon.

After Smithy, Claire, and Slinger were killed due to Mimic's betrayal, Green Hover, along with Blue Block, Cyan Laser, Orange Rocket, and Pink Spike joined the last surviving member, Whisper. Green Hover along with the other Wisps, entered her unique Variable Wispon, lending their powers to Whisper and giving her weapon unique abilities, as a result.

During the War, Green Hover and the other Wisps at Whisper's side continued to aid her, and together they made a big difference on the battlefield in the favor of the Resistance.

Silent Support[]

After the War, Whisper attempted to break into one of Eggman's bases with Green Hover and the other Wisps by her side. When she encountered Sonic the Hedgehog and Silver the Hedgehog, despite her initial recoil, Green Hover and the other Wisps acknowledged who Sonic was, since he saved them, their species and their planet from Eggman in the past. This convinced Whisper that it was safe to reveal herself to the two hedgehogs. When Whisper was held in place during a battle with E-107 Theta and multiple Spinas, Green Hover and the other Wisps tried to protect her by hovering in front of her, but Silver ended up saving them.

Green Hover assisted Whisper when she joined the Resistance on a mission to Angel Island in order to liberate it from Neo Metal Sonic, who was leading the Eggman Empire, by force.

Battle For Angel Island[]

When Whisper joined the Resistance on a mission to liberate Angel Island from the Eggman Empire, her Green Wisp and other Wisps came along with her and aided her in battle. After accomplishing their mission, Whisper's Green Wisp celebrated their victory with Whisper.

Bonds of Friendship[]

When Jewel the Beetle and the exhibitions at the Mineral Museum got stolen by the Babylon Rogues, Whisper's Green Wisp helped Whisper and Tangle get Jewel and the stolen goods back by powering Whisper's Variable Wispon. Afterward, it helped clean up the museum and return all the stolen stones.

Tangle & Whisper[]

Another day at the Mineral Museum, while Whisper explained who Mimic was to Tangle and Jewel, Whisper's Green Wisp levitated several minerals in the air. However, it nearly dropped them after the Cyan Wisp sped past it. Luckily, the Green, Pink and Cyan Wisps managed to catch them. The Wisps soon gathered around Tangle to look at pictures of Mimic impersonating Sonic. When Tangle decided she should help Whisper catch him, the Wisps supported the lemur. After Whisper initially refused, the Wisps surrounded Tangle, eager for her to join them on the mission. Following this, Whisper agreed to let Tangle accompany her and the Wisps celebrated.

Later, after Tangle and Whisper encountered Mimic, the Green Wisp listened to Whisper as she told Tangle of her past. The Wisps soon convinced Whisper to allow Tangle to see what Mimic did to the team. Later, the Green Wisp helped create a message to give to Mimic so that he would easily find and challenge them again. After the girls managed to defeat Mimic, the Green Wisp joined them in going to Tails' workshop to have him imprison the shapeshifter.

The Last Minute[]

In Spiral Hill Village, Whisper became hysterical upon learning from Sonic that Tangle got infected by the Metal Virus. Her Green Wisp helped Amy and other Wisps drag the wolf back to the Rescue Shuttle when she tried to run back into the village. In the shuttle, the Wisps tried to comfort Whisper as she cried into Cream's lap.

All or Nothing[]

The Green Wisp accompanied Whisper and Silver to Orchardville. It and the other Wisps (aside from the Cyan Wisp) held up prisms for Whisper to fire her laser at so that it could bounce off them and hit Zor. After collecting Zor's Chaos Emerald, Silver, Whisper and the Wisps returned to Angel Island. After Super Sonic and Super Silver reversed the effects of the Metal Virus on the world, the Zombots were cured. This included Tangle, who was soon happily swarmed by Whisper, Whisper's Green Wisp and the other Wisps.

Bad Guys[]

Several Green Wisps were stationed in Everhold Prison to be used for the guards' Hover Wispons. However, many of them left their Hover Wispons after Zavok sabotaged them with his electromagnetic abilities during his and other the maximum security prisoners' breakout. Another Green Wisp immediately stopped powering its Hover Wispon after Mimic snatched it from one of the guards and used it against the guard.

Zeti Hunt![]

A Green Wisp would power a Hover Wispon used by one of the soldiers of the Restoration. However, the Green Wisp was released in a daze when Zavok defeated the soldier and crushed the Hover Wispon.

While Whisper's Green Wisp accompanied Whisper to Restoration HQ, it would learn that Belle had been kidnapped by Dr. Starline.

Trial by Fire[]

It was later with some reluctance that Whisper's Green Wisp joined Whisper when she departed from Restoration HQ in order to keep her friends out of harms way after learning that Mimic was free. Although Tangle caught them departing, she was unable to convince the Green Wisp and its friends to stay.

A Green Wisp would later power Gala's Hover Wispon while they found themselves in the middle of a swarm of Badniks. Before Gala could launch an attack however, Sonic swooped in and brought both Gala and her Green Wisp away to safety, whom he instructed to wait out the Badniks in a nearby house.

Another Grand Adventure for Jet the Hawk[]

Whisper's Green Wisp was with the wolf playing cards with the other Wisps when Jet tried to get his calzone back from her.

Overpowered[]

During her fight with Surge, Whisper brought her Green Wisp. During the fight, Surge forcibly absorbed the Green Wisp via the Dynamo Cage. Surge would use the Green Wisp to hover during her fight against Sonic, Tails, and Metal Sonic. During the fight, the Dynamo Cage would break, freeing the Green Wisp. The Wisp would go to Sonic and follow him back to Restoration HQ, where it reunited with Whisper.

Urban Warfare[]

Whisper's Green Wisp accompanied her during the Diamond Cutters' attack on Eggperial City. Whisper let it out so it could get a birds-eye view of the city for Lanolin. Sonic would absorb it and transform into Green Hover to get a view he wanted. It also joined her in the picnic that followed the destruction of the city.

Misadventures and Endless Summer[]

Whisper's Green Wisp was with her during her stay with the Diamond Cutters at Restoration HQ. The Green Wisp went with her during a beach day with Tangle, Jewel, and Sonic.

Personality[]

Green Hover, being a Wisp, is helpful, friendly and peaceful in its nature. It enjoys spending its time with others, especially loved ones. Green Hover is like the other Wisps, it is not fond of fighting, but it is still a brave and good-hearted soul who will try to protect its friends at all costs.
