Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone |
โ | Next stage >> |
Green Hill Zone is the first Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog (Didj).
Description[]
Looking exactly the same as Emerald Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Green Hill Zone is a Green Hill-themed area, with small hills and the sea being spotted in the background. The soil has a checker pattern, and the grass has lines on it. Flowers and tall palm trees decorate the place.
Gameplay[]
Green Hill Zone is a fast-paced Zone, offering many alternate routes to reach both underground and above the surface. Loop-de-Loops are common in this Zone, requiring the player to gain enough speed to pass through them. Other gimmicks here also include Springs and corkscrew tracks.
Overview[]
Trivia[]
- According to the Sonic the Hedgehog (Didj) game design document, Green Hill Zone was originally Act 1 of "Grass Hill Zone", with Emerald Hill Zone serving as Act 2. The document erroneously states that Act 1 emulates "Jade Island Zone" from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), despite no Zone with that name having appeared in that game.[1]
- The music used for Green Hill Zone is the music for Mushroom Hill Zone Act 1 in Sonic & Knuckles.
- Several portions of Green Hill Zone are taken from Emerald Hill Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
