The last known Grand Vizier, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, from Sonic the Comic #153. Art by Richard Elson.

The Grand Vizier is a title that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is an honorary title appointed by Princess Kupacious. The person who is given this title acts as the princess' right-hand.[1]

The Grand Vizier holds a great deal of authority over the kingdom of Shanazar, seemingly only second to Princess Kupacious. Privileges to this title include being allowed to live in the palace, being given the power to exact punishment on certain criminals, and access to the vast resources of the kingdom.[2][1][3][4] However, the Grand Vizier is still duty bound to answer directly to Kupacious's orders.[1]

Dr. Ovi Kintobor, a former Grand Vizier, from Sonic the Comic #69. Art by Richard Elson.

Following his arrival on Shanazar, Dr. Ovi Kintobor was made the Grand Vizier by Princess Kupacious after he redesigned Shanzar's plumbing system, allowing him to live in the palace.[1] It was later there he met Sonic the Hedgehog, Grimer and Nack, the two latter of which he imprisoned.[2][1] Kintobor was soon after send out on a dangerous mission by Kupacious to escort the chosen children for the Ritual of Transformation to Mystic Mountain.[1] During the trip however, Kintobor would revert back to his evil alter-ego: Dr. Ivo Robotnik.[5][6][7]

Returning to Shanazar, Robotnik was able to gain Kintobor's position as the Grand Vizier from Kupacious (who found him much cuter than Kintobor).[8] With his newfound position, Robotnik was able to charm Princess Kupacious while using her money to capture Sonic.[9] Unbeknownst to Kupacious, Robotnik would also use his resources to build the Dimension Blender which would merge Shanazar with Mobius.[10][3][4] Once learning of her Vizir's treachery, Kupacious tried executing Robotnik, only to get turned into a frog.[3] After Robotnik's grand plan failed though, he abandoned his title as Vizier.[4]
