The Grand Forest,[1] also known as the Great Forest,[2] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a large forest where Dr. Kintobor's tower is located, and the Moebius counterpart of Mobius Prime's Great Forest.
Description[]
The Grand Forest is a lush forest with Dr. Kintobor's tower located in its center. The tower in question projects an invisible force field which encompasses the entirely of the Grand Forest. A large clearing with a small flower bed is also present nearby the tower.[1]
History[]
The Good, the Bad, and the Hedgehog![]
Due to a mishap on the Cosmic Interstate, Sonic ended up in the Grand Forest, where he encountered Dr. Ivo Kintobor in his clinic. However, as the doctor believed him to be Anti-Sonic, Sonic was forced to flee the tower, accidentally crashing into Anti-Sonic in the process. After Anti-Sonic explained the concept of alternate dimensions, he and Sonic fought, with the latter eventually tricking the former into being captured by Dr. Kintobor. After Kintobor realized Sonic was from another dimension, he supplied him with a Super Scooper before the hedgehog left.[3]
Zone Wars[]
Some time later, the Anti-Freedom Fighters attempted to take over Kintobor's clinic, but were unable to penetrate the newly created force field surrounding it. The Anti-Freedom Fighters subsequently left the Grand Forest for Castle Acorn, but not before Anti-Sonic tossed an empty soda can on the ground, prompting Kintobor to order his Sweep-bots to clean it up.[2]
Protection[]
At some point, Dr. Kintobor upgraded the force field surrounding his clinic to surround the entirety of the Grand Forest, allowing the area to serve as a safe haven from the Anti-Freedom Fighters.[1]
Otherside[]
Eventually, the Suppression Squad led an attack on the Grand Forest and stole the Globe Posts from Dr. Knotobor's tower. When Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose attempted a counter-invasion on Moebius after Scourge the Hedgehog and his Suppression Squad invaded Freedom HQ, they arrived at Dr. Ivo Kintobor's veterinarian tower in the Grand Forest where they were attacked by Buns Rabbot in her Omega Care Unit who mistook him for Scourge due to problems with the Omega Unit's optic sensors. Dr. Kintobor stopped Buns though and then asked Sonic and Amy to come outside with him to discuss how to defeat Scourge. Buns Rabbot suggested that they sought out the help of Rosy the Rascal, but Dr. Kintobor responded that she was far too dangerous. Amy was persistent though, and convinced Kintobor to tell them what he knew regarding Rosy. Sonic, Buns, and Amy subsequently left for Castle Acorn.[1][4]
Inside Job[]
Following their imprisonment in the Zone Jail, Scourge and the Destructix used a Warp Ring to escape to the Grand Forest, as their employer Dr. Finitevus had a job for them there. However, Scourge had other ideas, and stated he had big plans for both Moebius and Mobius.[5]
