Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Novelization[]
Goo Bombs are utilized by Maddie Wachowski in order to escape from Guardian Units of Nations agents after freeing Sonic, Tails, and Tom Wachowski from G.U.N. custody. She later attempts to restrain G.U.N. Commander Walters using a Goo Bomb, which he dodges.
Trivia[]

An unused small, spherical gadget, from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
- Despite having a notable role in its novelization, Goo Bombs do not appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 proper, presumably having been lifted from an earlier version of the script. A similar role in the story is instead filled by the Gizmo Wing.
- Another spherical device is briefly shown among Tails' gadgets in the film, but is never used. Though differing from the bombs' description in the novelization, it is possible that this device would have been a Goo Bomb.
