The Goal[1][2] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of signpost found on Little Planet.
Description[]
The Goal sign takes the appearance of a short, thin signpost. It has a gray support post with a yellow arrow pointing to the right on it, and a lavender sign with the text "GOAL" written on it with a yellow, cartoonish font.

In Sonic the Hedgehog CD, the Goal sign only appears in the locations where the player is close to the Goal Plate at the end of the first two Zones of every Round. When passing through it, the screen will lock, preventing the player from going back. It will also instantly cancel the Time Warp.[1][2]
