Glowing Grotto is a hard-difficulty track based in Mystic Jungle. It contains massive six-lane half-pipes and Grind Rails.
In Glowing Grotto, the playable characters are stuck running down the level's road and can only move left and right between the road's lanes (akin to the Quick Step). While running, the player can pick up Rings or power-ups from Item Boxes and utilize the gimmicks native to this track. Rings and Item Boxes in particular respawn almost immediately after a playable character picks them up from the track.
Glowing Grotto has many environmental obstacles which the player can either jump over, roll under or move around. Running into one of these obstacles will result in the player taking damage and lose some of their Rings. Falling into bottomless pits on the other hand forces the player to restart from an earlier point on the track.
Glowing Grotto begins as a four-laned track taking a turn to the left before turning to the right. After that, the track will turn to the left again for a while before straightening out and continuing straight ahead for a while, with Triple Dash Pads appearing along this section. As the track then takes a turn to the right, the track will split into six lanes. Following then another brief straight section on the track, the track will turn rightward before taking a turn to the left and leading across a Grind Rail section. After that, the track will turn to the left and into a corkscrew of Grind Rails. After that, the player will enter another straight-lined track section with Triple Dash Pads along it. After then sliding under a bar covering the whole track, the track will take a turn to the left and continue straight ahead for a while, leading over two Grind Rail sections in the process. After the second of these sections, the track turns to the left and the player has to slide under two successive bars covering the track, before arriving at another Grind Rail section that will head into a rightward turn. After getting through this turn, the track's six lanes will merge into four on a straight path, before the track takes a turn to the right, followed by a series of twists and turns to the right and left until the player reaches the goal.
