Gift is an item that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, debuting in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed. The item is usually exchanged when the player is given missions by local townsfolk.

Usage

Gifts are usually located within NPCs. They are handed to the player in order to be given to another NPC, sometimes across multiple countries or locations, or simply just the hub world the player is in.

When given the gift, the player is tasked with the job to deliver it around the world to the corresponding citizen that awaits the gift, or the gift is being given to. Once the player delivers the gift as Sonic to the citizen who the gift was designated at, the mission is complete. Sometimes, multiple gifts must be delivered, or the player will receive a new gift for doing so.

Trivia

• During the second mission from Yaya in Mazuri, the player is tasked with getting a Chocolate Sundae Supreme as a gift for Yaya's mother, Essie. After attending the Ice Cream Vendor in Apotos, the player will receive the ice cream for free, so that the mission may be completed. However, the player can go into their inventory, and feed the Sundae Supreme to Chip. Doing so, it is now impossible to receive another from the Ice Cream Vendor, and Yaya will not act as if you have received the ice cream. To complete the mission now, the player must instead go to a local store, such as the one in Apotos, and pick up a Chocolate Sundae Supreme from there. Going back to Yaya, she will respond as usual, and the mission will be completed.
