The Gift is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a birthday present for Sonic the Hedgehog that spawn in different worlds for the player to collect.

Description

The Gifts are presented as cubic package boxes with a lid on top of each of them and a gift band wrapped around them. Also, the box and its gift band come in a variety of colors.

Overview

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Gifts are objects that spawn in all the game's worlds during the "Birthday Bash Event!" Accordingly, they are birthday presents for Sonic that Dr. Eggman stole from Sonic's birthday party in order to ruin the event.

In gameplay, Gifts must be collected in order to unlock Gift Chao, Birthday Chao, additional storage slots, Birthday King Sonic and Classic Sonic in the game. Notably, the Gifts always spawn in set places. When a Gift has been found, the player can touch it in order to collect it, which in turn will reward the player with twenty-five Gifts for the objective's total. However, they will respawn after a short while. Alternatively, the player can locate Crates and Balloons; by hitting these objects with a Spin Dash or Homing Attack, the player can open them, which will in turn award the player one hundred Gifts each by default. Like Gifts, these objects also respawn after a short while. When Gifts are collected, a gauge will appear on the left side of the HUD that shows how many Gifts the player has left to collect before unlocking a reward. The amount of Gifts needed to unlock each reward are as follows:

• Gift Chao: 10,000
• Birthday Chao: 25,000
• Storage Upgrade (+5 slots): 50,000
• Birthday King Sonic: 150,000
• Classic Sonic: 250,000

If the player collects the required amount of Gifts for each reward, they will not spawn anymore. However, players who do not have the required amount still have a chance to collect them.
