Gentlemen, forget the fox. Look around. This world draws its last breath.

Dr. Deep, "Grim Tidings"

Ghost Hill, also known as Green Hill, is a location that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. It was a Shatterspace created by the destruction of the Paradox Prism, and the ghostly grey version of the disappeared original Green Hill, as a means of preserving it so that it could be restored to its true, complete form.

Description[]

Ghost Hill was the ghostly and corrupted version of the remains of the original Green Hill. It looked nearly the same, except the whole place and the colors were more faded. Ghost Hill was the home of ghostly versions of Amy Rose (with Birdie), Knuckles the Echidna, Miles "Tails" Prower, Rouge the Bat and Big the Cat (With Froggy). It used to contain the yellow Prism Shard in the Temple Mountain, which created the Ghost Prism, the ghostly outline/blueprint of the Paradox Prism.

History[]

TV series[]

Season two[]

Even though it wasn’t visually shown, it was hinted that Ghost Hill was first visited by Shadow, who would later return, bringing Sonic with him. According to Shadow, it was just another Shatterspace. Sonic is shocked to find ghost versions of his friends Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Big, and Froggy. They all repeated the same phrase over and over again. Despite Sonic talking to them, none of the ghosts were able to communicate back. Shadow took Sonic to the cave within the Temple Mountain where the incident happened. Surprisingly, the real yellow Shard was still in the same place. Shadow believed that bringing the other Shards there could fix the world, and he decided to fight Sonic for his tech to go on the mission himself. They fought all over Ghost Hill, with Shadow stealing all the Regulators. They left the place to go to The Void.

Later on, Sonic and Shadow came back with Nine and most of the Shards. While Nine worked on fixing the Paradox Prism, Sonic and Shadow battled the Chaos Council. After the battle, Sonic then got betrayed by Nine; who took the four Shards of the Paradox Prism for himself, leaving Shadow with an angry look and Sonic in a devastated state.

Season three[]

Because Nine took the yellow Prism Shard to The Grim, rebuilt the Paradox Prism and began using it to transform The Grim, causing Ghost Hill to start self-destructing. Shadow, Sonic and the Chaos Council managed to leave before it imploded.

After helping Nine see sense, Sonic willingly gives up his Prism Energy to fully restore and stabilise the Paradox Prism. Nine then goes on to use the complete Paradox Prism to start a reformation process, which triggers the Gateways, and their respective Shatterspaces to start repairing themselves, restoring them to the way they were before they started decaying. When it came to the Ghost Hill Gateway, it turned grey after being rebuilt, and, when Sonic and Shadow got closer to it in order to save Sonic and return home, it turned green (a different green than the green on the Boscage Maze Gateway), implying that Ghost Hill slowly reverted back into Green Hill.

Trivia[]

  • Had all the Prism Shards been present to fully restore the Paradox Prism, it's possible that everyone in Ghost Hill would still remain, allowing Nine and the Chaos Council to survive and be in the Prime reality.
    • It's unknown if Sonic's Prism Energy would've been necessary to restore the Paradox Prism if all the Prism Shards were reconnected.
  • The ghostly versions of Sonic friends move to random location for no apparent reason.
