The Gatling Gun[1] (バルカン砲[2] Barukan-Hō?, lit. "Vulcan Gun") is an object that appears in Shadow the Hedgehog. It is a gun-type weapon usable by both enemies and the player.

Description[]

The Gatling Gun is a silver-colored weapon, with six barrels revolving around a central shaft. Because the weapon is utilized by the massive Big Foot mechs, it is very big in comparison to Shadow.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Gatling Gun can only be found in certain Stages, such as the Black Comet. They can be wielded by Big Foot Type As and Big Foot Type Bs, who will use them against the player.

Gatling Guns can be dropped by defeated Big Foot-type enemies that wield them or released from breakable Containers. Touching one will make the playable character pick it up automatically, and pressing Square/SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/XboxX (whether on the ground or in mid-air) will fire it. Holding down Square/SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/XboxX will cause it to fire continuous shots. As a gun, the Gatling Gun can shoot enemies from a distance (targets within range will be automatically targeted). It has high damage output and a long attack range, making it an ideal weapon of choice. A Gatling Gun has a total of forty shots, and once those run out, it becomes useless. However, it can be reloaded with another forty shots by picking up another Gatling Gun.

Trivia[]

  • The Gatling Gun is modeled after M134 Minigun.
  • Unlike what the description and name suggest, such a weapon would not be hand-cranked in order to fire; it would only be able to use an electric motor to spin the heavy barrels and fire them fast enough to be effective.
  • The Gatling Gun lacks a visible ammo source. It appears that the motor was mistaken for an ammo supply.
