The Gathered Flame is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] As an icon, the Gathered Flame appears as a glowing, fiery red, orange, and yellow fireball. On the tracks, it takes the appearance of a yellow pillar of fire.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Gathered Flame can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Darkspine Sonic . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Gathered Flame if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Gathered Flame by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user sets loose the Gathered Flame projectile. It first spirals in front of the player to charge and after two seconds it will travel down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user, this charge will drain out the user's speed. Rival characters that make contact with the Gathered Flame will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Gathered Flame, the playable character has to step out of its lane.
The Gathered Flame can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Gathered Flame.
