Galactic Parade (ギャラクティックパレード[1] Gyarakutikku Parēdo?) is a track that appears in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and the second track in the Rogue Cup, which is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series and in turn, representing Starlight Carnival from Sonic Colors.
Description[]
This track takes place among an armada of colourful floats in space, more specifically at Starlight Carnival. The starting line and several parts of the track have the racers drive through some of these spaceships, which are full of alternate routes, and bridging these ships together are bridges of light that sport the occasional Egg Chaser to impede progress. These bridges are curvy and completely devoid of rails, so racers must take great care not to fall off.
From the second lap onwards, racers will drive through transformation gates that lead the track through an asteroid field, reminiscent of Asteroid Coaster.
Overview[]
The race starts with a downhill route, leading to the shuttle with two alternate routes at two different forks. They both appear on the right routes at both forks. The alternate route at the first fork is the bonus one leading to a token. The alternate route at the second fork is the shortcut leading to a super pickup with three Boost powerups. The ramp to the shortcut moves around vertically, sometimes preventing the player from taking that route. When the three routes reconvene, there will be a bridge of light that sports two Egg Chasers that shoot out lasers as hazards. This bridge is curvy and completely rail-less, so the player must be careful.
From the second lap onwards, the player will go through transformation gates that lead through the Asteroid Belt. In the second lap, the second shuttle is the same as it is in the first lap. In the third lap, the second shuttle is different than it was in the first lap.
Trivia[]
- This is the only track in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed to originate from a game released during the seventh generation of consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii; from 2005 and onwards) as the other tracks (excluding Race of AGES) originate from a game released before 2005.
- The floats are based on real life constellations like Orion and Leo.
- The track has no bars to keep the player on the track. This and the space theme make a strong resemblance to (and possibly a reference to) Rainbow Road in the Mario Kart franchise.
