The Gail Meteor is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Gail Meteor's icon takes the form of Flamberge making a horizontal swing with red energy wave released in its wake. In gameplay, this power-up becomes Flamberg thrown horizontally through midair like a discos while it leaves a brief red trail.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Gail Meteor can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Sir Gawain . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Gail Meteor if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Gail Meteor by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user tosses Flamberge like a discos, which will quickly travel down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user. After flying down the lane for a while, Flamberg will then ricochet in the opposite direction. Opponents caught in the path of Flamberg will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, Flamberg can travel through obstacles, destroy Badniks it comes into contact with, and will continue moving after hitting rival characters. To avoid Flamberg, the playable character has to either step out of its lane or jump over it.
The Gail Meteor can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. At level 6, the player increases the damage dealt with the Gail Meteor, and at level 12, the player gets the chance to obtain two Flambergs from one Item Box.
