GP Usage UP is an installable performance-enhancing component for Extreme Gears. Its actual appearance is unknown, though it is presented as an icon on the head-up display in the top-left corner of the game screen. Its icon is a light blue-colored circle with a black upright swirl, which has another black swirl that is dimmer and longer inside it, inscribed in it.
Overview[]
In the game, GP Usage UP is permanently installed into only certain Extreme Gears. When in use, GP Usage UP provides an unlimited amount of Gravity Points in the player's GP Gauge for 25 seconds, allowing free usage of Gravity Control and Gravity Dive within this time. The remaining time the player has left to use the unlimited Gravity Points is shown by a timer that appears on-screen whenever GP Usage is used, which starts counting down from as it appears. After its timer expires, however, GP Usage UP returns to its disabled state after, unlike other Gear Parts, but it can be activated again if enough Rings are collected to do so.
In gameplay, GP Usage UP and its ability will be disabled when starting a new race. To activate GP Usage UP, the player must press one of the following buttons after collecting a certain number of Rings:
PS2
Wii (remote) - sideways
Wii (remote) - forward
Wii (Nintendo GameCube Controller)
Up on
When activating GP Usage UP, the player's Rings will be reduced accordingly by the number needed to enable it and the Extreme Gear is surrounded by an orange void, indicating the Gear Part's ability is in effect. The following Extreme Gears come equipped with the GP Usage UP:
When activating GP Usage UP while riding on the Mag, the GP Gauge reappears (if the player has activated either Base Stats UP or Attack Time UP first), maintaining the same capacity that it had before activating any Gear Parts. The player's top speed is reduced and sometimes when the player performs Gravity Dive, the speedometer constantly reads 203 as opposed to unreadable values. The Gear Part also overrides the effect of the Mag's previous Gear Parts.
